Starting this Thursday May, 12!!!!

Following up on what was mentioned at the ODGC AGM the course is opening up for a consistent week night of play.

The reasoning behind this is to:
1) Help develop the local disc golf community with a regular night of play
2) Provide some additional options for "organized" play to existing Disc Golfers.

Format: I'll let the players of the night decide but I'd personally like to play the course in random draw best disc doubles or any doubles format. I think that allows people to enjoy the course with less pressure and aggressive/creative play. Pooled prize pot and things like that TBD by the players.

Time: I think that'll develop as things progress and schedules develop.

Cost: Green fees at Ettyville are $5 unless otherwise posted. Green Fee's are an honour system and you can always catch up later. This is subject to change so please don't abuse it.

Insurance: I expect players to have ODSA insurance. For those that don't and/or newbie’s coming out, I will wave the green fee for the night and put the funds toward the $8 per person cost for season long ODSA insurance.

Note: I have no set expectations and am hoping that something organic will develop from regulars and the creation of a local player base. The course is there to use and I'm hoping to provide an avenue for people to discover this great sport, community, and leisure activity.

THIS EVENT IS BEING HELD INDEPENDENTLY OF THE OTTAWA DISC GOLF CLUB.

I'll be home around 5:30 tonight but my oldest son will be around before then if anybody is planning on coming out.

Looks like it might be the last nice day before a weekend of rain. Sad

I'll also put the Detroit / San Jose game on outside the trailer if need be.

Go Red Wings!!

I can see myself becoming a regular at this event for the month of June. I would not arrive till 8pm but that leaves 1.5 hrs lite and I will finish with LEDs. I will post when I know I am heading out so people can challenge me for tags, rags or riches.

Not this Thrusday tho' my wife has Yoga. Are bugs out yet?

I haven't been outside at dusk much but in the evenings there's been nothing to worry about near the house. I'm sure they're on the way or in the bush already.

We don't get the black flies that bad for whatever reasons.

Place will be open this Thursday. I probably can't play as I've got some packing to do.

Note for those that don't know the course will be closing next week for a week or so as baskets re-locate to the Shire for the Big Man.

This Thursday and this weekend should be good. I'll advise if the back nine get's any mowing. Right now it's not in the cards and rain is coming.

Back 9 short, mids, longs is an interesting 27 somebody mentioned on the TOSS thread. Enjoy the auger 3 times in your round!!!! Crying or Very sad

Nobody usually shows up yet. It's been 2 Thursdays.

I'm sure if you come Rolly your fan base will start showing up as well.

Looks like another wet day again. Maird on that.

Ran into two out-of-towners yesterday at the Shire; I told them about your Thursday nights, so they might head out.

I am nursing two sick kids right now otherwise I would join you Rolly. I hope to make these Thursdays periodically throughout the summer but not show up till 7:30 or so. Please keep posting if you are interested in playing because it is real motivation to drop everything and make the drive.

Gunna bottle my beer tonight. 40 Litres of Superbatch. http://www.cachettedubootlegger.ca/supbatch.html
Better than any beer sold at beer stores in Ontario. If you like Reinheitsgebot (Bavarian Purity Law) type beer. Last batch was like Leffe Brown and was an IPA. Tonight it is Yorkshire Bitter and a Honey Ale. Just spreading the word on this huge discovery. It is so easy, just requires time. 20L for $30.

An IPA that tastes like Leffe shouldn't be calling itself an IPA, in my humble opinion.

Still, a flight of your beers against their intended styles would be quite interesting.

Though admittedly, I have a tendancy to think of an IPA mainly as an aggressively hoppy beer.

In any event, we now return you to your regularly scheduled Ettyville.

It was hoppy like an IPA but I used too much malt at the end for carbonation so it turned out sweeter than intented. Delicious tho'. When it ages right I will start bringing it out to league for CTPs. Special stuff.

There's a commercial beer available now at the SAQ near the casino, that is a nice example of an off-dry IPA, like described above.

Seeing as you seem gustatorially keen, let me recommend Bellhaven's Twisted Thistle IPA.
