An ODGC sanctioned tournament is:

A - Open exclusively to current ODGC Members; or

B - Open to all interested disc golfers provided:
The ODGC receive $3 per current ODGC Member and $8 for any player that is not a current ODGC Member;
Where the tournament is not otherwise insured, the ODGC provides insurance through its membership in the ODSA which requires players that are not already insured members of the ODSA purchase an ODSA membership for $8, which fee is payable to the ODSA through the ODGC;
Where the tournament is a PDGA tournament, the tournament director is responsible for ensuring compliance with PDGA regulations and for collecting and paying PDGA sanctioning fees; and
Where a park permit fee may be payable to the course land holder, the tournament director agrees to pay this fee.

If the tournament is to be held in a public park, the tournament director must provide the date and intended location of the tournament, and the start and finish times of the event at least 120 days in advance of the event. This time is necessary to process park occupancy permits through the respective government agencies.

Park permit fees are payable one week prior to the tournament.

All other fees payable to the ODGC are due prior to completion of the tournament unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

In return for event sanctioning, the ODGC will provide:
Appropriate announcement space on the ODGC website for the event prior to its starting;
Where appropriate, entry into the President's Cup season schedule;
Where appropriate, round ratings using the ODGC rating system;
Event Insurance as dictated by our insurance policy with the ODSA;
An avenue for requesting volunteer support; and
The necessary park permits, if required.

Tournament directors are responsible for all other aspects of their tournaments, including the provision of food, beverages, waste pick-up, tournament prizes, etc. The ODGC will provide generic scorecards for sanctioned events upon request.

The ODGC only sanctions disc golf tournaments and events. Aspect of any tournament that are not tournament-style disc golf are the responsiblity of the tournament director, and the ODGC assumes no liability for these activities.

The ODGC and the Tournament Director may exchange trademarks, logos, slogan, or other intellectual property for the purposes of promoting the sanctioned event. Any such exchange provides the limited right to use the material for the purposes of promoting, running, or reporting on the sanctioned event. Any request by the owner of the intellectual property to modify, remove, or cease use of said intellectual property will be acknowledged and acted upon in good faith and in a reasonable and timely fashion. No other rights are implied, and all rights to said intellectual property will remain with the owner. Event sanctioning does not provide any additional rights to intellectual property exchanged for the purposes of promoting, running, or reporting on the sanctioned event.

Tournament directors must ensure that their event, their conduct, and the conduct of tournament participants comply with local park rules, as well as all municipal, provincial, and federal laws and by-laws. The ODGC assumes no responsibility or liability for any breach of these terms, even if due to the negligence of the ODGC, its agents, officers, or executive members.

As per the BOD vote in January 2017. The ODGC will no longer be charging $8 for non-members at an ODGC event. The charge is $3 for all players.

The main reason for the change is that the club received complaints from TDs about excessive costs for new players.

And thank your for this. It has been hard to get new players (and travelling ones) when we charge them more, move baskets around and not post a map and have events where only members are allowed to attend. I hope the club is moving towards a more sporting organization model rather than boys club in the future. This is the first step in this direction. If you play disc golf in Ottawa you are welcome at our events and on our courses.
