Plans are well underway for Ottawa's annual tournament in the Quebec Disc Golf Tour. This year, the Outaouais Open will be a PDGA 'C' Tier for all divisions that are offered in this tour:
Open / MPO
Masters / MPM (for those 40 & over, or turning 40 prior to Dec. 31, 2017).
Advanced / MA1
Amateur / MA2
Women's / FA2
Juniors / MJ2 (15 and under)
Online registration is available for players to sign up at:
dgscene.com/oo17
Flyer - English: (edited link)
https://www.docdroid.net/X2UCdEn/flyer-oo17-e-v4.docx.html
Flyer - French:
http://tinyurl.com/oo-2017-Fr
Women and Juniors will get 2 discs and a player pack. The other ams will get 1 disc each. Pros get added cash to the payouts. There are 2 CTPs and 1 Longest Putt per division (with 4 or more players), plus another LP and CTP for All divisions.
Come check out our tamed mountain. It'll be at it's peak by GameDay (July 22) thanks to Eric Vinet and his volunteers from the ODGC.
The Lost Owl contest returns again this year, which gives players who make some bad shots (and those helping them find their errant discs) have a chance at winning a disc for the return of a poor lost owl in the woods. Last year one got away and can now be found drilled into the wood near the teepad of Hole 9-shorts. Find them before they become prey to somebody's drill!
Pros will play Long - Long
All others will play Short - Long to allow for players to earn 2 PDGA rated rounds at the tournament.

English link isn't working.
According to the French flyer, the date is July 22 and the DiscGolfScene website lists the important times
Neither of these mention an ODGC membership discount.

Thanks. I fixed the link for the English flyer.
I've kept the entry fees low for the divisions in comparison to any other Ontario PDGA tournament in lieu of offering discounts to club members. I remit $3/ODGC member and $8/local playing non-club member, so the club benefits financially from the tournament.
Women and Juniors will get an enhanced player pack worth over double their entry fee, including 2 discs and a Tick Key. Amateurs will get a disc, and pros get added cash to the payouts. We also have 21 CTPs/LPs, side contests, Ring of Fire, and of course, the Lost Owl contest. Players are well taken care of.
Pre-registration opens tomorrow night at 8pm. I'm accepting pre-registration tonight at TOSS as well. Hope to see you all there! _________________ "If everybody is thinking alike, then somebody is not thinking." - Gen. George S. Patton Jr. |

Hey Don, will all divisions be submitted to PDGA? I noticed only MPO and MPM last year. Thanks. _________________ -jc |

I can put people up at my place. I will have a four bedroom house to myself that weekend. I have three extra beds and unlimited floor space.
Edit: message sent to JJ through disc golf scene. _________________ http://www.odgc.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10254

Mountain Update for July 5th, 2017:
There is still some standing water from all the rain we have had. I play in sneakers but they get a bit wet by the end of the round. The grass is long and the greenery is lush.
The mountain is very well maintained but discs are still being lost. Use spotters and take note where you land. And don't throw green discs (I suggest hot pink).
The Survival camps are back and have set up shop in their usual places. I say leave them for time being and we will take them down for the event on the Friday. Please play around them and do not disturb their intricate stick and rock placement. Cant fault a kid for playing with sticks. I am 41 and still enjoy it.
Lots of work is being done on the course to make it the best it can be for the event. I expect to see the course in the best shape it has even been as so many people have contributed this year. Keep up the great work.
I will be at the hill most weeknights (excluding Fridays) until the event. I would love help and company or someone to play a couple holes with on one of my many breaks. I arrive around 6pm and stay until 9pm. _________________ http://www.odgc.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10254 |

I am in for the OO. I'll register with Don at an upcoming event.
I was on the hill today. The "survival camps" were easy to avoid. There is one really close to hole 7 longs (next to teepad). There was also one hanging off of hole 16's basket. Moved it safely away. _________________ -jc |

Great news. I worked out a deal for the OO-Saturday with A&W. All you have to do is go in to any A&W in the city and tell them you're a disc golfer and you'd like your free Root Beer. Boom. Voila. There you go. Free root beer. |
