Looks like we might get some rain should make things interesting.
The deer flies are out right now. I would suggest wearing a white hat to keep them out of your face |

If anyone is still on the fence the weather looks better here than they were forecasting.
We will have Mountain Champions crowned today as we will be playing on teams.
Really looking for 1 maybe 2 more in order to have 4 teams. |

I would like to say thanks to all who made it down for this years event.
We played team match play with 4 teams of 3.
In the round robin stage of play Claus and his team of Kyle and Brenda scorched the competition getting 5 of a possible 6 points. Close behind them in second was the team of Ken, Larry and Chris. There was a tie for third with the team of Cyle, Dan D and Mario taking the third seed based on the tiebreaker of holes won vs holes lost. Finally the team of Alex, Dan P and Luke finished 4th with the task of taking on Claus' team in the first round of the playoffs.
The 2 vs 3 matchup in the playoffs saw Ken's team win both matches against Cyle's team and move on to the finals. In the 1 vs 4 matchup Claus' team was stunned by Alex's team when they tied but Alex's team won the tiebreaker.
In the finals we saw a singles matchup of Ken vs Alex. Alex continued his bold strategy of losing his match and hoping for the best. Unfortunately for him this didn't pay off as Larry and Chris held off a late charge from Dan P and Luke to hold on for a tie winning the finals 1.5 to .5
Congrats to Ken, Larry and Chris who all received Mountain memberships for a full year and also took home the coveted trophy.
1 Ken D
Larry P
Chris B
2 Alex W
Dan P
Luke L
3 Claus R
Kyle F
Brenda C
4 Cyle P
Dan D
Mario H
When all was done we made a $120 donation to Big Sky Ranch. A local animal rescue. If you have kids or just want to see some exotic animals up close I highly recommend heading out to this place for an afternoon. It is worth the drive just to see the Bison up close.

I had a blast playing this format even though I was sick. I hope you all had fun as well and maybe we can expand on this tournament next year. |

Hey Dan,
Sincere thanks for putting together a really top notch event. The weather was patchy, but the 12 of us showed good resolve to tough it out, and play out the event.
I was impressed and really pleased with the great way you devised the format for 3 player teams, playing a doubles and singles match per round. Was equally pleased with the 3 other captains, who with a great spirit of fair play, gave each player a turn at singles in the pool rounds, all done pairing opponents at the nearest level possible.
Thumbs up to Claus, 4-0 on the day, the only player with a perfect record. My only loss was in doubles, where Larry and I lost a match, 4-2 to Claus and Brenda. I felt we played decently, but C&B rose to the challenge, 4 times hitting long putts to snuff out our chances on holes. Gotta love it.
Again, great format. After 20+ years in this sport, great to experience something new, and really good. Thanks ! |

Hey Dan,
Thanks very much for hosting a fun event. Playing doubles was an experiment that worked out very well IMO. Good times for sure. |
