Ottawa's Ice League
continues this weekend Saturday Dec. 6th, 2014
at Alcove a private course located north of Wakefield, QC.
We will be playing one round on the 18 hole tonal course.
THINGS TO KNOW:
Gavin is your TD for this event, heres hoping he will post the start time.
COURSE MAP:
See last year's thread:
http://www.odgc.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11179
DIRECTIONS TO ALCOVE:
Address for Google maps/GPS usage; 44 chemin Echo Dale, la Pêche, QC
Get on Highway 5 as if you were heading to Camp Fortune but don’t exit at Old Chelsea,
instead continue until the end of HWY 5 where there is a T intersection with a set of lights turn left on to HWY 105N.
Stay on this highway (the 105 north) until it ends where you will merge taking a right onto Chemin Maclaren the 105 bypass that takes you around Wakefield. At the first set of lights you will take a left back onto the HWY 105.
You're back on the 105 heading north and the highway eventually splits into a four-lane and up ahead, looming on the left, you will see a massive sandpit. Turn left onto the dirt road (Chemin Echo Dale) when you get to the pit. Stacie's driveway is the first driveway on the right, which is half a click from the highway.
It is a long driveway, and you can't see the house until the end of the driveway
(if you have 4 wheel drive you might like to use it now). Park when you get to the house.
Hope to see you all out there on Saturday!
(Seriously, i do. As im still in Toronto for work) _________________ Hyzer enthusiast

I notice a start time has not been mentioned. May I suggest a 11AM start for Alcove so we can all get home at a reasonable hour. |

Wondering how much snow there is in Alcove and whether ribbons will be required? |

There is about 5 cm on the ground, from last night. Borderline ribbon territory. |

How many games is your suspension?
Not sure if I can go yet. Hoping to be able to in order to defend my ice-league cali win from last year.
I won it on the last throw with a 3 on 18 as the final card coming in.

The great thing about coming to Alcove now is the FOUR lane highway all the way past Wakefield!!!
Makes for faster and safer driving! |

I’ll be there…it is possible my nephew and his friend might also come. Neither are really experienced golfers but both have played Alcove before! |

Rolling start. |
Which means I'll open up registration at around 10:30.
It's important that folks show up on time because of the rolling start. _________________ Hyzer enthusiast |

Cool Andros!
Glad your coming!
I don't think the snow will be a problem and I don't think ribbons are necessary! But others might disagree... |

Yes thank you Stacie! I now know why everyone raves about that course! It was a lot of fun and a great challenge. Thankfully I had Darco's coat tails to ride on! |
